Pochette Metis Hardware Protectors: Fit and Coverage Guide
A Pochette Métis hardware protector should match your bag's hardware and the areas you want protected. ZXOXR offers crystal film for the large front lock, plus crystal and frosted full-set options. Each comes in two-set and three-set packs. Start with fit and coverage, then choose the finish and quantity.

Identify Your Exact Pochette Métis Version
The Pochette Métis family name does not establish that every bag has identical hardware. Start with your bag's exact version and reference, where available, then compare its actual hardware with the protector made for it.
Names can also differ between markets. Louis Vuitton's US listing identifies M44875 as Pochette Métis MM, while Pochette Métis PM, M2A789, is a separately listed model. Use the reference in your bag's documents where available, rather than relying on PM or MM shorthand alone.
An East-West or special-edition version also needs its own fit check. A shared S-lock description, similar appearance or overall bag size does not establish a matching film outline. The reference identifies the bag; the hardware shape and dimensions determine the fit.
For a different bag style, browse the ZXOXR hardware protection films for Louis Vuitton bags and look for its specific model.
How the Six ZXOXR Options Are Organized
The ZXOXR Pochette Metis hardware protection film listing has six options, grouped into three combinations:
| Option | Coverage | Pack quantity |
|---|---|---|
| High-definition crystal film | Only lock area | Two sets or three sets |
| High-definition crystal film — full set | Main hardware areas; same coverage in both finishes | Two sets or three sets |
| Original frosted film — full set | Main hardware areas; same coverage in both finishes | Two sets or three sets |
Read each option as finish + coverage + number of sets. These are different properties of the order. The listing does not currently offer a separate frosted lock-area-only option.
Lock-Area Coverage and Full-Set Coverage
The lock-area image is labelled “large lock only.” This option focuses on the bag's large front lock, rather than hardware throughout the bag. Choose it when that front lock is the area you want to protect, after matching its shape to your actual bag.
The full-set options cover the bag's main hardware areas. Crystal and frosted full sets provide the same hardware coverage; the difference is their finish.
Choose lock-area coverage when your priority is the large front lock. Choose a full set when you want coverage across the bag's main hardware. A full set does not mean every metal surface or edge is covered; any area without a fitted piece remains exposed.
For a special version of the bag, or if you need help placing a particular piece, ask for a fit check. Use the instructions for your selected kit to match each piece to its intended hardware area.
What Do “Two Sets” and “Three Sets” Mean?
The quantity describes sets of the selected film option, not a count of individual film pieces. Two sets does not mean two pieces, and three sets does not mean three areas of the bag.
For example, choosing three sets of crystal film for the lock area still selects lock-area coverage. Choosing two sets of a full-set option selects that full-set layout. More sets provide more of the selected option; they do not expand its coverage.
Decide on the correct coverage first, then select the quantity.
Crystal or Frosted: Consider the Visible Finish
The crystal and frosted names distinguish the available film appearances. Crystal is the clear-look choice; frosted is the matte-look alternative. Choose with the appearance of your own hardware in mind, using images of the selected option rather than assuming every film will look the same once fitted.
ZXOXR uses TPU film cut for specific hardware areas. A thin film can follow a compatible surface, but it remains an added layer. Edges and changes in reflection may be visible at close range, particularly around curves and transitions.
Film is intended to help reduce minor scratches from everyday contact on the surfaces it covers. It is not a coating for the bag's leather or canvas, and it does not make exposed edges or uncovered hardware scratch-proof.

Before Ordering or Applying the Film
Confirm the bag version, hardware shape and selected coverage together. Special editions, production differences or replacement hardware can make a familiar model name an incomplete description of the fit.
If you need help, use the model enquiry form to describe your bag and the hardware you want protected. Include the model or reference you know, your intended film option and the particular fitting you want us to confirm. The page also offers a WhatsApp contact option.
Follow the instructions for the particular film before applying it. A cleaning method intended for canvas is not automatically appropriate for metal hardware, leather trim or an adhesive film. Keep cleaning products away from surrounding materials unless their care instructions specifically permit that use.
If a piece does not match the intended hardware area, pause and ask for a fit check before proceeding. Each piece needs its own correct placement; an approximate match is not enough.

Common Questions Before You Choose
Can the film remove scratches already on the lock?
No. The film is intended for surface protection; it does not repair existing scratches or restore worn hardware finishes.
Will a full set protect the entire bag?
A full set covers the bag's main hardware areas. Leather, coated canvas and the bag's corners are outside its scope, and any metal area without a fitted piece remains uncovered.
Once you have confirmed your bag and the areas you want protected, choose your ZXOXR Pochette Metis film option. Select the appropriate coverage, finish and number of sets together.
ZXOXR is independent of Louis Vuitton. Brand and model names describe intended compatibility; the product is a protection-film accessory and does not include a handbag.
